For those requiring to be monitored by a carer, the Vitalsens platform is ideal for activity and health status monitoring. This product version combines quick and easy-to-apply patch electrodes which can be worn continuously for up to 7 days before being replaced at a different site on the wearer's torso. A lightweight, battery powered body-worn device is clipped on to the patch and communicates using short range wireless to a static unit in the home (pc, notebook etc). A change in any of the monitored signs outside of a preset limit trigger the device to send a message to the carer. The device can be configured to send periodic measurements to a website for review by the carer.
